With Lyle Lovett, Dan has been on numerous television programs including sixteen appearances on “The Tonight Show,” seven appearances on “The Late Show” with David Letterman, as well as performing on Conan O’Brien, Austin City Limits, the Grammy Awards, and The Arsenio Hall Show. Dan has also had the honor of participating in three performances at The White House. As part of Lyle Lovett's Large Band, Dan has backed many guest artists, including Tony Brown, Jackson Browne, Jimmy Buffett, Sam Bush, Larry Carlton, George Duke, Bela Fleck, Kinky Friedman, Rickie Lee Jones, Leo Kottke, Alison Krauss, k.d. lang, Willie Nelson, Bonnie Raitt, and Sting. |
In 2000, Dan won the “Best Drum Book of the Year” award from Drum Magazine for his book The World Of Flams. Dan is a native of the Phoenix area where he works at his recording studio Lyquid Air and The Treehouse Studio, as well as teaching private lessons through Phoenix College. He currently plays with about forty-five bands. |
